I'm in Darwin ready to embark on the first session of the Australian Rural Leadership Program. Tomorrow, at 7am, I depart with 32 other participants for Kunanurra and the beginning of a two week Kimberley adventure. The details of what we are about to experience have been kept deliberately hazy, but from all accounts it's going to be amazing.
I've spent the afternoon meeting my fellow participants. We're all pretty tired and our last night in a bed with crisp sheets and a soft pillow is beckoning. While the others have wandered to their rooms, there is just me and one other tapping away quietly, the last to release technology.
There's a feeling of excitement and trepidation amongst our group. We face two weeks without communication with the world. This is my chance to express my appreciation. I wouldn't be here without Michael's support and encouragement. With our sons, Harry and Joel, I know everything is in good hands. Wine Australia have provided me with a unique opportunity for which I am very grateful.
Good night and stay tuned for the next instalment when I return home.
